When I was researching where to stay in London, one of the neighborhoods I kept coming across was Shoreditch. Friends recommended it, bloggers suggested it, and after reading about all the different neighborhoods in London, it was definitely at the top of my (kind of long) list. Shoreditch is one of the business areas of London. When we got there, one of the first things I noticed was every man was wearing a suit. It seemed to me to be kind of an up-and-coming neighborhood. It’s also known as the creative hub of London’s trendy East End, which is what originally drew me in. Apparently there are lots of great vintage shops there too, but unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to check any of them out.

What I did get to try though was lots of coffee and tea. After landing in the morning, we were exhausted, so coffee was a must. It was the first thing we did in London and definitely set the tone for the trip. The coffee shop we went to, Ozone, was incredibly adorable. And not only was the coffee also delicious, but the staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful! But when in London, you have afternoon tea, right? And that’s exactly what we did on day three.

We were on a time crunch, so we picked an afternoon tea place close to our Airbnb (use my link for $40 off!) in Shoreditch. I guess it was a chain restaurant, Patisserie Valerie, but it was actually really delicious. And definitely affordable (afternoon tea for two was just 25 pounds). Up until recently, I was never much of a tea drinker, but I do actually enjoy it now! Especially when it’s served with cute little sandwiches and treats. I honestly really want to get one of those tiered trays. So perfect for hosting!

Have you ever had proper afternoon tea?
