So I decided to go ahead and do the obligatory 2015 reflection/2016 goals post. I think it’s really important to reflect on experiences, goals achieved and changes over the past year and the best way for me to do that is to write, so here I am.

2015 was by far the craziest, most intense year of my life. I went through some huge changes, experienced the soul-crushing pain of loss and grief, met people that changed my life, achieved success beyond belief and became so much closer to my family. Though there’s nothing that can balance out the tragic loss we experienced in my family, the year wasn’t all bad. Here are some of the positives:

1. I figured out work/life balance
This is something I really struggled with in the past. I was always working. Like always. Now I’ve realized that it’s so important to balance work with other life experiences to really live a full and fulfilled life. It’s important that I keep focusing on this in 2016 and continue the balance I have achieved this year.

2. I reached over 30k followers on Instagram
Although my goal was to reach 50k followers this year, I’m excited to have reached 30. Now I better have 75k by the end of 2016!

3. I made more on my blog & design than I ever hoped
I have been blogging full time for a couple years now, but when I first went full time, I was really struggling. I’m happy to share that that is no longer the case. I have enough money to buy the things I want, travel, and save some. Life is good! Here’s to keeping that up!

4. I grew closer to the people I love most
There’s nothing like a tragic loss to make you realize who matters most to you. For me, it’s my family. I dropped everything to be there for them and I would do it again in a heartbeat. If you haven’t talked to your family in a while, do yourself a favor and give them a call. Right now.

5. I finally traveled outside of the US
Not only did I travel to Italy and Costa Rica, but I also explored new places in the US like Hawaii and Colorado. And I’m continuing the trend this year! My goal is to get 5 passport stamps. World, here I come!

As for my 2016 goals, I plan to continue with the positive changes I made in 2015, plus a few new ones: I want to start doing yoga at least weekly; I want to double my income and Instagram following; and I want to prepare myself to start investing in real estate.

What are your goals for 2016?
