2017 goals, new years resolutions 2017

You guys, can you believe it’s 2017?!? I think we can all agree that 2016 was all over the place so I am totally ready for a fresh start. I don’t normally love New Years resolutions. I think people can start new goals at any time and a date on the calendar makes no difference at all, but I’ve begun to use this time to reflect on the past year to see how far I’ve come. And one way to do that is to look at last year’s goals.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t achieve all my goals. And that’s ok. In the past, I used to make goals that I knew I would achieve. I used to think that if I didn’t reach my goals, I was a failure. It’s the same fear that held me back from so many other things. This year was the first time I felt a shift in my attitude. Last year, I set my goals knowing I might not reach them and I was right. I didn’t. But isn’t it better to have high aspirations that you might not meet than low ones you probably will? I’d say so. So with that in mind, I’m setting new goals for this year in a new way. Instead of shooting for an end result, I’m going to shoot for making some changes in my everyday routine.

1. Practice Spanish via Duolingo at least 3 times a week
2. Do yoga 3-5 times per week
3. Keep a more consistent schedule with my blog content (post 3-5 days/week)
4. Create at least one new video per month
5. Dedicate 1-2 hours daily to Adorn

I am very happy with some changes I made last year (spending more time on myself/with family vs work, more traveling, etc.) so I definitely want to continue with that, but I’m always looking to improve. I think these goals will help with that, as well as help me create a better balance in my life.

What are your 2017 goals?
