You know those trends that come and go, yet you still can’t figure out why anyone would ever wear something so hideous? In honor of Tuesday Shoesday, I thought I’d switch things up a bit. Instead of posting my favorite shoe trends, why not share some shoe trends and styles that I just can’t stand. Sorry, but these trends should go back to where they came from.

High Heel Sneakers
High heel sneakers were popular in the Spice Girl era in a platform style, but now they are trying to make a comeback. From Nike to Sperry, this trend is in stores everywhere. Please go back to the 90s!

Pointed Toe Boots
Yes, pointed toe stilettos and flats are back, but one pointed toe shoe that should never make a return is the pointed toe boot. They always look so cheap and how can you not look like a total witch wearing these? Let’s save this look for Halloween.
Flat Platform Sandals
This is one trend that is back on the rise for SS 2012. Platforms were everything in the 90s, but I just do not see the appeal. I like wearing flats and I love wearing heels, but in between? No thanks. Which leads me to the next awful shoe style…
Kitten Heels
Kitten heels are one style of shoes that should have never been invented. They are like a weird in between of flats and heels–it’s just awkward. If you own a pair of these, please get rid of them immediately!
Thongs Heels
Thong sandals are ideal for hot summer days, but when you add a kitten heel, or even a wedge, everything goes downhill. Personally, I even try to avoid thong flip flops–they’re just so tired–so why make an old look even worse by trying too hard to make it ok? Sorry, but someone’s plan backfired.
Translucent Jelly Sandals
We all know that Crocs are a major no-no, but now their Jelly cousin is trying to sneak her way into our closets for SS 2012. I, for one, am taking a firm stand against this horrid look. Don’t be fooled by the array of colors and light weight of these style culprits; they will bring any look from chic to cheap.
Gladiator Sandals
Gladiator Sandals were all the rage a few years ago. From the Olsens to Sienna Miller, everyone had a pair. But now this worn out look has been reduced to second hand shoppers. Their 15 minutes are so over.

Do you have a defense for any of these trends? Or do you hope to never see them again? What are some shoe trends you don’t like?
