A new, unusual hair trend has been on the rise for a while now. It started with quirky celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry; then it made its way to fashion bloggers and celebrity trendsetters; and now young adults and teens alike have followed suit. Of course I’m talking about the recent wildly popular trend of pastel hair shades.
I have had my eye on this look and have been tempted to try it in the past, but it wasn’t until I saw it in person that I realized just how much I like it. Thirteen year old Britney Speights is a fun-loving, carefree teen who obviously has a thing or two to teach me about letting go and just going for it. Britney went with a red shade from Kiss Semi Color (It rinses out!). The “red” turned to pink on her naturally platinum blonde hair and she ended up with a pastel color to dye for.
There are several ways to try this look. If you’re feeling daring, you can apply color all over your locks. But if you’re a little wary and don’t want to attract too much attention, just dyeing the tips is the way to go. For light hair, it is much easier to choose any color of the rainbow, but if you have darker hair, stick with blues and purples. These colors are more likely to stick as well as complement your skin tone. It is my preference to use color that rinses out, especially if you are dyeing it yourself. Accidents are far too common and when playing with unnatural colors, it is much better to be safe than sorry!
What do you think about this trend? Would you dye your hair a pastel shade?
