As I mentioned in a previous post, Atlanta is full of great brunch spots. The selection is diverse; there are high-end places and laidback places, but when a restaurant masters the perfect balance of both, that’s when they’ve got my attention. And this past weekend, I was lucky enough to find just that at West Egg Café.
West Egg is located in midtown west (my new favorite area of ATL). I kept hearing about the café, but never had the opportunity to go until a few of my friends came into town for a fun weekend. We decided it was the perfect place to go for brunch and we were right!
Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the HUGE crowd of people. Fortunately, some of my friends arrived before us and we were seated almost immediately (the wait was 45 minutes to an hour!). Every time I see a crowd like that though, I know I’m in for a treat. We sat down and immediately ordered two pitchers of mimosas. The champagne came out in a marble bottle cooler with the orange juice in a separate container.
We all were in desperate need of coffee as well and it tasted great! I decided on a veggie omelet with a side of skillet potatoes, and a Belgian waffle while my friends got the Georgia Benedict and Black Bean Cakes.
We all truly enjoyed our meals. The skillet potatoes were seasoned to perfection and cooked just the way I like it: a little crispy on the outside, but nice and soft on the inside. One of my friends exclaimed that each thing she ate was “the best I’ve ever had in my life.” I think she might have been a little too excited, but she really couldn’t get enough of West Egg’s delicious brunch—and neither could I.
The laid-back atmosphere paired with the quality foods and creative menu made West Egg just the place for me. And I can’t deny that I was loving the extensive drink menu—I’ve never seen so many beverage options for breakfast! If you’re looking for a fun brunch place to eat with friends, try West Egg. I’m willing to bet you won’t regret it!
