Happy October! Can you believe it is here already? I definitely can’t. Like many people, October is one of my favorite months, but it’s for a different reason than most. I never really experienced fall before a couple years ago besides when I was a blissfully unaware child, but there was this one “fall” day three years ago when I was visiting my best friend Meghann in Tampa. It was a major life-altering time in her life and we just spent all day every day together for about a week. On October 1st, the weather was as close to fall as I had ever felt in my adult life.
That day, we went to publix and got tons of cinnamon brooms, butternut squash, pumpkin scented candles, and every other cliche fall thing you can think of. We lit the candles and I made the most incredible butternut squash both my bff and I had every tasted. (I have tried to replicate it several times to no avail.) Everything that day was perfect and we will both always remember that October 1st fall day for the rest of our lives.
Since then, fall has always held a special place in my heart and I get all cheery when the weather cools down and the leaves start to change. Along with that happy heart, comes boots, everyday denim and layering – sweater weather if you will. So my fellow Atlanta bloggers and I are layering up with Everlane to welcome October.
{ sweater ℅ // shirt ℅ // denim ℅ // Sam Edelman shoes (sold out), // bag ℅ Wessley NYC // earrings ℅ }
is a direct to consumer manufacturer of fine, high quality basics. Since they cut out the middle man, the prices are mind-blowingly affordable for the impressive quality. It’s hands down the best place to get basics. I can’t recommend them enough, and everyone I know that’s tried them feels the same way!
Do you love fall & layering?

So I have been wanting a pair of shoes like that for awhile now (and I love SE – so good choice on brand). But what I don’t understand is that it always looks like people wear them without socks…is that the case? Don’t your feet get super sweaty if you wear them all day sockless?
October 4, 2014 @ 1:12 pm
I have never worn these all day, so I wouldn’t know, but I didn’t wear socks. Then again, I rarely sweat so I’m not sure how they’d be on anyone else! I haven’t have any problems in these 🙂

Of COURSE I love layering. To say you don’t is a lie. Layering and fall are about as mutually exclusive as peanut butter and jelly; they’re not. Now excuse me as I go light up some seasonal candles and get comfy! You’ve put me in the fall mood. (:

As a woman of a certain age I specially appreciate layering. We are getting into real fall weather in my neck of the woods and I think being prepared for temperature changes is important.
October 21, 2014 @ 1:10 pm
So true! I love layering because no matter what, you can either add or take away layers to be perfectly comfortable in your surroundings 🙂

Oh I definitely love fall and layering. I usually go with a big, comfy top, rock body-hugging pants underneath, a distressed pair of boots and a bright pop-of-color scarf.
