I am so excited to share this post today. I love having friends over to my place as much as I can. It’s just so relaxing and comfortable to be at home, and entertaining is always so much fun. This past weekend, I teamed up with Stella Artois to host my gals for a little happy hour afternoon, complete with gold accents, pretty flowers, and gorgeous art.
For me, hosting is in the details. I love making every little thing pretty on its own. Then when it is all brought together, the end result is always fab. I knew I wanted to have gold accents since the Stella glasses have gold on them. It was the perfect opportunity to bring in some metallic glam. I used white and metallic paper strips to fill the Stella glass goodie bags. And then I used white and silver confetti to sprinkle around everywhere. To me it was important that most of the pieces be white with some gold and silver mixed in. I didn’t want to be too over the top, especially since I also put out some gold-wrapped chocolates.
I didn’t fully decide on making the flowers pink until I got to the store and saw these pink peonies. Irresistible, right?! Since I’m not made of money, I also got some spray roses to add around the setup. I combined the flowers with a eucalyptus and greenery bunch to give off some relaxed and carefree vibes. I love how the leaves kind of spill over the vases. SO pretty!
For the final touch in the decor, I had my friend Laurie bring over some art to display. She just had an art show recently and all of her pieces looked so pretty, that I just had to ask! She was so sweet and let me pick the perfect paintings to enhance the theme of the party. Aren’t they gorgeous?! I actually also put her to work and made her write on my chalk board. I wish I was talented in that area, but when I tried to write “Welcome”, it seriously looked like a five-year-old wrote it. Thank you so much, Laurie!
Finally, since it was a happy hour event, I wanted to display the drinks in a pretty way. I had the bottles and glasses set out next to each other to show off the drinks. I did have more bottles in the fridge that I gave everyone to pour into their glasses. It just looked so pretty that I didn’t want to mess it up! As I was planning the party, I was a little worried that everyone was going to drink the beer and no one would want the cidre, but it turns out more people drank the cidre than the lager! I’m a beer girl myself, so maybe that’s why I thought that, but I’m so glad that everyone had something they wanted. Everyone seriously loved the cidre. It’s actually pretty perfect for a hot summer day, so I can’t blame them. Plus it doesn’t contain any gluten for those who are allergic (like my little sis! She’s the one in the green dress).
Everyone had such a great time and I’m so glad everything turned out the way it did. I can’t thank Stella enough for the sweet gifts and I can’t wait to “host one to remember” again!
