Bonnaroo 2018: Day 1

What a weekend! I’m so excited that I had the opportunity to attend my second Bonnaroo Music Festival thanks to LaraBar and Bacardi! I first went in 2014 with Skype and had a blast. I knew this year was going to be amazing after checking out the lineup, but it was honestly better than I ever imagined! I was only able to go two out of the four days, but that was definitely enough time to make some really great memories.

On day 1, I had 2 outfits ready to go. I had to walk about a mile to Bonnaroo from my hotel, so I wore my shorts for that trek. On the way, we saw some tiny little mini potbelly pigs! They were the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! You can still take a look in my story highlights here. Once we got to the festival, my first stop was the Oasis at Bacardi Bay for a deliciously refreshing cocktail – served in a coconut! What a treat. This area was a hangout zone for us all weekend. And we missed it, but Chance the Rapper was actually there playing beach volleyball the day before we got there! He wasn’t even a performer at Bonnaroo, he was just hanging out. How cool?!

After our drinks, my friend Steven and I headed to the VIP tent to cool down. If you’re going to a music festival, VIP is totally the way to do it (thanks for the wristbands, Bacardi!). As it got later and cooler, I changed into my amazing striped pants. How incredibly perfect are they?! I found them in store at South Moon Under during my shopping spree and I couldn’t have been happier. They’re such a dream! To continue with the festive vibes, I piled on a ton of gorgeous jewels from Alex and Ani. They have such a great selection of special pieces and I can’t wait to wear all of them year round!

My favorite performance during the day on day 1 had to be Moses Sumney. I actually just heard his music for the first time recently and totally fell in love. He’s even more amazing in person! He had a loop pedal on stage with him and was creating sound loops and other musical effects live. I’ve never seen an artist do that before, so I was completely blown away. That night was Eminem. I couldn’t believe how amazing and lively he was live!!!! I like Eminem, but I have never been a huge Eminem fan. Until now. Wow, I definitely see why he is so successful. He’s 45 and is still so fun and energetic on stage. He is an incredible performer and a true talent. I will be a fan for life now!

The last performance of the night was Kaskade. This was a full-on dance party. At this point (2am) I had already gone back to the hotel, taken a nap, and changed into outfit 3. Since I was only there for two days, I had to make the most of my time. Kaskade performed unitl 7am if you can believe it! Man, looking back, I can’t believe that was all day 1. But that’s only half of it. Stay tuned for day 2!
