Our last stop on the island of Palawan was Puerto Princesa, the biggest city and where their main airport is. After seeing El Nido, my expectations for this city were not high, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got to Princesa Garden Island Resort. While I would not personally rate it its supposed five stars, it was worlds better (read: cleaner) than anywhere else we went on the island. The grounds were very pretty and it was a good choice for our last night in the Philippine Islands.

For our relaxing day at the resort, I finally had a chance to wear my blue striped matching set. I did wear the with some white cutoffs in El Nido, but it was much too hot and dirty for a maxi skirt there. That’s one of my favorite things about matching sets. I love wearing them together, but it’s also great to mix it up. It’s like a 3 in one! I’d wear the with my white bodysuit, kind of like I did here! This set was so comfy and perfect for the setting. We spent the day exploring the grounds, snacking on pizza, and lazing by the pool. It was such a nice break after the not-so-smooth journey from El Nido.

I’m not sure if there’s a beach in Puerto Princesa, but there was not one at our hotel despite it being on the water. It was more like a marshy, shallow area that led out into the ocean, which seemed kind of weird given the other end of the island in El Nido! But it was a nice change of pace and extremely relaxing. I’m so glad we got this little break from the non-stop traveling. It was much needed!

What’s your favorite thing about beach resorts?
