I have already expressed my love for indoor plants months ago and revisited the concept of plants bringing life to a home last week, but over the weekend, I got tons of new plants and I am so excited to share them with you! Here are a couple of my favorites:
Cacti & Succulents
These plants are so great because they are super easy to care for. You barely have to do anything and they will stay alive; they don’t need too much sun and water, so even if you’re not the best at keeping plants alive, this one is likely to work out for you. An added plus? You can replant succulent leaves to grow a whole new plant!
Hyacinths
I never knew about these flowers until I saw them at Trader Joe’s last week and now I can’t get enough. Since I bought the first one last week, I have bought two more (one in each color – blue, pink, and white). Not only are they so pretty and vibrant, but the smell is so strong. I can literally smell it as soon as I walk into the room, even though the flower is at least 10-15 feet away. It’s amazing!
I definitely plan on adding more plants to the collection; I actually also bought sunflowers, lavender, strawberries (not flowers, but they’re still pretty plants!) and a daffodil. I’ll be sure to update on my progress. In the meantime, I’d love any tips or suggestions!
Do you like indoor plants and flowers? What are some of your favorites?
Please excuse the iPhone photos – weekends are for relaxing, not work!

The succulents are only around $3 each! And the hyacinths were $1 at Walmart!

Love this! I really need to do a better job of decorating with plants. I have a bamboo that I’ve had for over 5 years and it’s still really healthy, but I keep saying I want to add more plants. Love the pics, as always!

I don’t usually have plants around, I do have flowers all the time, but I really like the Cacti and Succulents, they are lovely and the fact that they don’t need to much time is perfect for me!

I recently got an Orchid from my husband. Lets just hope I can keep it alive. It is the only indoor plant I have at this time, and I’d really like to get more. My husband has a couple cactus plants, and I’d really like him to get them out of the house because I have been pricked by them repeatedly! They are quite large, and our house is not. Indoor plants are great, but I wouldn’t recommend the desert variety..LOL!

Haha! The cacti I get are very small and many don’t have spines that prick you! There are options out there, you just have to find them. I got mine at Home Depot and Ikea!

I should definitely try hyacinths! Right now, I have a cactus pot and two bromeliads, but I always make sure to keep a bouquet of fresh flowers on my desk. At Trader Joe’s and Meijer, you can get a beautiful bouquet for just $4!

I used to always keep bouquets, but I am loving having these potted plants! Trader Joe’s is the best for that though! 🙂

This is really nice. I would love to have indoor plants but I cannot due the fact that I have animals.

I have two dogs! Luckily, they don’t mess with our plants 🙂

I love your collection! Last summer I couldn’t manage to keep my succulents alive, I didn’t realize just how little sun we got in our apartment, so now I’m planning to get a few (and definitely some hyacinths!) for the deck. I think I have the same little table set as you–fits perfectly on a tiny balcony!

Thank you! LOVE that table set! We just got it over the weekend. And we get LOTS of light in here (it’s impossible to sleep in) so that definitely helps!

I am so bad with any plants, but I love them so much! I really want to start slow…maybe with a small, hard to kill plant inside! haha Seriously though, thank you very much for the information! It makes me think, maybe I can do it! God bless!

Plants can add so much warmth and color to a room, plus they make the air healthier, too!

I would love to get more indoor plants, both for my office and home. Do any of these plants work well in the shade as I don’t have any windows in my office.

The only one that does ok in shade in my experience is this one: https://twitter.com/LushtoBlush/status/440651774106415104
