Before I went to Paris, I assumed everyone wore A-line skirts, striped shirts, ballet flats and berets every day. Ok, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but seriously, don’t you just picture Parisian women as perfectly put together elegant ladies? Well, I’m here to burst your bubble. Because everyone in Paris dresses casual af. Luckily a friend warned me of this before I went, but I still found my “casual” clothes to be a little too dressed up. Good thing I packed options.

One of the things I always struggle with when traveling is what shoes to wear. I love exploring and walking around so I can organically discover a city, but I also like to be fashionable. As a blogger, this sometimes means I have to change shoes a lot (#doitforthegram). This time, I opted against it and I think I’m going to have to wear flats on all my trips now, because it was so much more comfortable – and much more realistic!

I went to Paris with my blogger friends Lauren and Jessica. Jessica speaks some french and has been to Paris a few times before, so we let her lead the way a lot, which was super helpful! We walked all the way down theChamps-Élysées from our Airbnb to the Louvre. It was a very lovely walk, especially through the Jardin des Tuileries with the large fountains and cute little food stands.

Jessica found this little striped courtyard next to the Louvre last time she was in the city, so we knew we had to stop by for some photos. If you’re facing the Louvre, it’s to the left under the archway. It wasn’t overrun with tourists at all, so I felt like we had the inside scoop, which I love. There were actually a lot of locals there, including an “artistic” dance group, school kids, working men and women. It was really cool!

After the photos, we continued through the tree-lined courtyard and found a coffee shop for some much-needed espresso. Anyone else get extra tired when they travel? It’s rough, but obviously worth it!

How do you define Parisian style?
