If you’ve ever been to Exuma, then you’ve most certainly heard of Chat ‘N’ Chill. It is easily the most popular restaurant on the island (well, it’s technically on Stocking Island, but you know what I mean), and an absolute must. You have to take a boat to get there, which makes it even more special. It’s only $15 round trip, but seriously, the experience is priceless. We actually almost skipped it – thank god we didn’t!!!

Chat ‘N’ Chill is the ultimate beach hangout. The restaurant has a fun bar with delicious drinks, a great selection of American options and local cuisine (the peas & rice I had here was better than anywhere else!) and an outdoor space you’ll never want to leave. There are tons of picnic tables where you can, you guessed it, chat n chill, and eat of course. There are volleyball courts, swings, hammocks, and this awesome conch stand where you can pet stingrays right on the shore.

We gave ourselves 2.5 hours to spend at Chat ‘N’ Chill, but I really wish we stayed longer! My friend Jen and I spent our time relaxing in the hammock, feeding the stingrays, and enjoying some delicious frozen drinks. While we were at the table eating and drinking, the owner of Chat ‘N’ Chill stopped by to introduce himself and say hi. He sat with us for 20-30 minutes and told us about the history of the restaurant and some personal obstacles he’s overcome in order to keep it up and running. Our conversation drifted into pursuing your passions no matter who tries to hold you back. Meeting people like KB and hearing their stories is why I love traveling. I will never forget my time at Chat ‘N’ Chill and I can’t wait to go back!

Have you ever been to Chat ‘N’ Chill?
