One of the coolest things we did on our trip to Mexico City was visit Cuadra San Cristóbal. Alex set up appointments for us to go see this famous house and I had no idea what to expect. It cost us $1500 pesos to get four people in, which is a lot in Mexico City, but it was so so worth it.

The house is one of three famous houses designed and built by Luis Barragán in the area. This one is the best one in my opinion, so I’m glad this is the one we visited. It’s about a 30-45 minute drive from where we were staying in Polanco, but definitely worth the trip. I’m so glad I wore my white maxi skirt and bodysuit. I think it went perfectly with the location!

When you first walk in to this gorgeous, open space, it is breathtaking. All the beautiful colors and plants with the shallow pool at the center is such a stunning combination. While the design is very simple, it is also very special and inspiring. It’s insane how open everything is. I think this would be an incredible venue, but it’s not currently used for that. In fact, it is actually someone’s house. We met the woman who lives there and she was really friendly. I guess you’ve got to be to open your home up to the public on a daily basis!

We also found out that this place is currently on the market. Just 13 million bucks and this house could be yours! Let’s just hope whoever buys it continues to let the public tour it. It’s too pretty not to share!

What’s the prettiest house you’ve ever visited?
