December Dreams

I’ve been a December baby since I was born (get it? Because I was born in December? Hilarious!!) and I’ve embraced the month since even though I hate cold weather. But I think that’s why I embrace it. Of course I love my birthday, but I love Christmas almost as much. So I love amplifying the celebration of the two to compensate for the frigid temps. On Tuesday, I celebrated the beginning of my birthday month and we finally got all of our Christmas decorations up. To Ryan’s dismay I began decorating on November 1st, so as a compromise, we waited until after Thanksgiving to finish the decorations. And aren’t they just stunning?!
The most amazing part of all is that we have two trees this year. I can’t believe all my Christmas dreams are coming true! I got a new tree a couple years ago, but I decided to keep my old one just in case. In case of what? Who knows, but hey, I sure am glad my frugal ass can’t get rid of anything! We have our big beautiful in our entrance area. This is our more formal tree that has a good theme with a few little color accents here and there.
We put my in the living room to add a pop of festivity to the already very white room and I think it worked out perfectly. It’s like this was always meant to be! I decided to go with a silver theme on the green tree since we have a white and gold theme in the other room. I’m usually all about that gold so this is such a nice change of pace. As for my other decor, it’s all things I have accumulated over the years. I didn’t buy anything new this year at all! Many of the pieces have never been used. When you live in an 800sqft loft, there’s not much you can do to decorate without it feeling overcrowded. So now that I’m in my spacious condo, it’s time for my Christmas decor to shine.
And I just love how my cute little nutcracker looks. His home is on our bar, but we brought him in front of the tree for his own little photoshoot – lol! My sister got him for me at the Atlanta Ballet Nutcracker performance at the Fox Theater two years ago and he has been a part of the family since. We go see The Nutcracker every year and are devastated to miss it this year. I guess I’ll just have to find a good one on Netflix!
How festive are you for the Christmas season?

These photos are absolutely spectacular! I can’t get over how stunning that bright white tree is. I’m all about a classic Christmas with red and green and older touches, but there’s something so dreamy about decor like this. You did an amazing job and it’s fun to hear about how you’re celebrating both Christmas and your birthday!

Thanks girl!! My living room is a little more traditional with the green tree, but I just love how this came together. It’s the perfect “grand entrance”! 🙂
