As I’ve shared in the past, I’m a loyal user of Dermalogica products and love how my skin has reacted to consistent use of the line. When I first started using , I just used the products that I thought I needed. I was pretty close to what I later was recommended and the products worked well in clearing my skin up, but I recently decided to visit the Atlanta location for a relaxing treatment & skin mapping consultation. I learned so much about my skin.
First of all, I am dehydrated all over. Thanks a lot, coffee and wine! Secondly, the I had been using is too harsh for my sensitive skin (I can use it weekly though). I got a great to use weekly for a mini facial that the specialist in the store recommended (she also used it on me during my treatment!) along with + for the perfect balance. Finally, she introduced me to the most important step in my new rountine: .
I actually had a sample from a while back and always forgot to use it because you have to use it dry. It’s an oily liquid that you rub between your dry hands and apply to your dry face. I used to always wet my face first and just be like oops, whatever. I mean do I really need to precleanse and then cleanse both morning and night? Um, yes. I do. This stuff is amazing!
I instantly saw a difference in the breakouts & fine lines on my face. Now I always make sure that I never skip that step. Not only does it help really get a deeper clean, but I love how the oil feels on my face. I couldn’t be happier with my new daily routine.
What’s the most vital step in your beauty routine?

Everyone is talking about the precleanse!! I must start doing it – especially if it makes such a big difference!

Cleansing is definitely the most important part of my skincare routine, however I do also love my serums!

I’ve actually started cleansing twice sometimes, so I totally get that! What serums do you use?

Coffee and wine…uh oh, I’m probably dehydrated then, too! Sounds like a fabulous line though, and I’ve yet to try any products from it, so I’ll have to pick up a few and give it a go.

You should totally try it! And yep, I think it might be worth the dehydration though haha

My most valuable step in my beauty routine is using my Clearasonic. It’s been an absolute miracle worker for me! I have really dry skin so using something that scrubs away all the dead skin (ew) every night has really made a difference! However I learned the hard way that my skin can only handle using it once a day. Otherwise, my skin will completely break out!

I use the Clarisonic too! I had the same problem. I use it 3-4 times a week and it’s the perfect amount!

I think for me, the washing step is the crucial one. Can’t have moisturizer or toner, or anything at all before the face is clean.

Oh yeah, definitely! Washing is a must.

I’ve used Dermalogica for years and I love the precleanse — it smells lovely and removes all the foundation and other grease from my skin. As I have oiler skin than yours, I also use the daily microfoliant, which I sometimes mix up with the Clarisonic. My favourite Dermalogica product is the Hydrating serum, however. It has been a game changer for my combination skin — since I started using it my dry patches of skin have disappeared and I have less breakouts in oiler parts of my face.

I use the hydrating skin booster! Definitely helps a lot. I have to use it all over! I sometimes use the Clarisonic with my regular cleanser – it’s a great combo!

Oh really? I had never even heard of precleanse until I came across the one from Dermalogica. Glad to know more brands are offering it!
