Designer Spotlight: Marc Jacobs

I have been obsessed with Marc Jacobs for as long as I can remember. He is the first designer that I fell in love with and I find virtually all of his pieces wearable. He even has a line for those on a budget, which just adds to his appeal. He is also super cute and today is his birthday!!!

Marc Jacobs is the perfect gateway designer. With pieces ranging from a $50 tee to hand-crafted couture, Marc has something for everyone. Not only is his quality range great, but women of any age can pull off something made by this talented designer. In addition to his own line, Jacobs is the creative director for one of the most recognizable and respected fashion houses in the entire world: Louis Vuitton. Accepting the position in 1997, Jacobs has since then brought Louis Vuitton’s ready-to-wear up to date, made already beautiful accessories even more to-die-for, and collaborated with other incredible designers to appeal to the masses.

My first Marc Jacobs piece was a gold watch (similar to this one). I never took it off and then quickly bought some gorgeous tortoise shell sunglasses. Although I don’t own as many pieces as I would like (and probably never will!), I love all of my little Marc items and always look to my first favorite designer for new trends.
