Dreaming of a Cruise

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to go on a cruise. When I was younger, I wanted to go on a Disney cruise; when I was in high school I wanted to go on a spring break cruise; and now that I’m an adult, I want to go on an exotic, relaxing cruise vacation.
I think my favorite thing about cruises is that you don’t really have to worry about anything. It’s all taken care of when you buy your ticket. There’s no planning, no extra fees, no language barrier. You get all the perks without any of the worry. And now that spring is here and summer is right around the corner, I keep dreaming of going on my very first cruise.
When I finally get the chance to go on a cruise, I want to soak up the sun at the pool and dance in the clubs at night. I want to see the shows they put on (they have shows on cruises, right?), spend a day at the spa and try my luck in the casino. I hate to admit it, but I love going to casinos. I always have so much fun. My favorite is blackjack – I totally had beginner’s luck one time, but that’s a different story for a different blog post.
In all honesty, I don’t think I’d even care where I went, I just want to take a cruise. So hopefully I can make it happen sometime soon!
Have you ever been on a cruise? Do you have any recommendations?

I have almost gone on a cruise twice now and haven’t been able to! Hopefully one day though. 🙂 They do seem amazing!

I love cruises! I’ve been on two, and they’ve both been a blast. I think it’s more fun to go as an adult because you get to do more and the possibilities on the boat are endless. There’s always something going on, and it’s always fun. It’s impossible to be bored. I have another cruise planned for January to go on Blogcation. It’ll be a fun blog learning experience, plus I’ll get to cruise to places I’ve never been before. I’m way excited. You should definitely plan to go on a cruise! It’s the best kind of vacation.

What lines have you used? I want to look into it, but I have no idea where to start! I heard about blogcation – it looks like so much fun!!

I went on a cruise with Norwegian and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend signing up for different lines email lists – they offer a lot of great discounts.

Thanks for the tip! That’s a really great idea!

I have never been on a cruise but it’s definitely on my to-do list because I love the ocean! The Alaska Cruises are ones that I hear a lot about (because we live on the west coast).

Yes, I hear a lot about those too! It sounds odd because when I think of a cruise, I typically picture a tropical destination, but I’d also love to go on an Alaska cruise as well!

I guess I’m just not a cruise person – I like to have more freedom than being stuck on a cruiseliner and only being let out for certain hours. Plus, I don’t think I could stand being on a ship with 3-4K other people. Just seems like a cluster! I have however done a cruise on a smaller ship of about 300 people – that was better than what I expected out of a cruise, but it still wasn’t my favorite way to travel

Good to know! Those are all really great points. But since I’ve never experienced it, it’s definitely something I want to do one day!

I have been on the numerous cruises, and most of the time it is as fun and convenient as you imagine! Definatelly recommending to start with a short one… so you can find out if you don’t have any motion sickness first! Also, this time of the year is a great start to try…. especially Caribbean most popular and very fun for spring break!

Those are great tips! What cruise line did you use?

I went on a cruise at Christmas time to southern Mexico. It was the best cruise so far. It was wonderful leaving the snow and within a day, had 70 degree weather. This was a smaller ship which for me is better as there are not as many guests, approximately 1400 vs 3500 on another cruise I was on. There are so many activities on the ship to do as well as excursions. The food is to die for. Next cruise will be to the Caribbean.

You make it sound so amazing!! I would love some warmer weather right now and I LOOOVE good food! 🙂

I just recently went on Norwegian Cruise Lines a “Cruise to Nowhere” has all the features you are looking for and it’s great to test out the waters “literally” to see if you like to cruise or not because it’s a short trip! Check it out on http://www.behindtheplates.com or { http://bit.ly/1e4opIf }

I’ve been on three cruises and I LOVED them! I would go on another in a heartbeat! My favorite was my cruise to Alaska! But I also went on one from New Orleans to Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel which was awesome!
