El Matador Beach was one of the top places Johnny wanted to see during our time here in LA. He got the scoop from a local photographer who told him the best spots for photos in the area. We heard there were lots of rocks on the beach here, but that’s all I really knew. I thought it sounded pretty cool and even looked cool in the photos I saw on Yelp.
I was completely blown away when we got there. I have to admit, I wasn’t 100% sold on checking it out, especially considering it was like 60 degrees outside – freezing!! But I am so glad we went. Since we went at sunset, there were quite a few other people there, but it didn’t feel crowded at all. Most people brought their cameras and we even saw someone getting their wedding photos taken. It’s definitely a popular spot and I totally see why.
I wore an all white look accented with this gorgeous blue printed scarf. It felt very beachy and did a good job of keeping me warm while still fitting with our beach setting. After the beach, we went out to eat at this awesome molecular gastronomy restaurant. It’s like where science meets food. Very cool!

El Matador Beach was definitely my favorite beach we’ve visited so far. Today before we leave, we’re planning on going to Manhattan beach, so I will report back with how I liked it!
Have you ever been to El Matador Beach?

It’s pretty sad to think that I’ve lived in California my whole life and have never made it to Matador Beach! Definitely need to change that! Manhattan beach is really nice. Hope you have a great time!
