As I shared last week, I’ve been spending a lot of time in Alabama these past few weeks. The loss of my cousin, who was raised by my grandparents due to the death of his mother when he was just five years old, has been extremely hard on us all. The only thing that helps is spending time together. We’ve all felt very out of it, but I’ve been happy to step up to the plate to clean, cook, shop, etc. for my grandparents.
If you’ve ever been to Alabama, you’ve probably noticed that there are two things everyone loves: sweet tea and boiled peanuts. While I am obsessed with my boiled peanuts, I’m not really a fan of sweet tea, but that doesn’t stop me from making some for my amazing family. Since both of my grandparents avoid refined sugar for health reasons, I used Equal. It was a huge hit! Here’s how I made my Sweet Home Alabama Iced Tea:
You’ll Need:
1 peach
4 Equal packets
tea leaves of your choice (I used green tea)
Instructions:
Brew tea per instructions
Add in peaches to let the flavors blend
Add in Equal packets
Let the flavors blend for a few minutes (the longer the better, but we don’t have all day here)
Add ice and shake
Serve over ice
How easy is that?! Even as someone who doesn’t typically drink tea, I actually enjoyed this one! I think it was the peaches – yum! Want to win a kit for a summer iced beverage? Leave a comment below and I’ll pick a winner next week!
Are you a fan of sweet iced tea?

My boyfriend is from Alabama so whenever we go down there I definitely get my fix of sweet tea (and the calories that come with!) I’ll have to give this recipe a shot!
