There has been a huge increase in the popularity of essential oils recently. My best friend Meghann was the one to first introduce them to me a while back and to say I was skeptical would be a huge understatement. I mean, how could oils really affect your mood and health? If they could, wouldn’t they be like all over the place? Well it turns out, they kind of are now and I definitely know why.
Essential oils are oils that contain the essence of the plant from which they are extracted. Some examples are lavender, eucalyptus and lemon. They are in several of our everyday home items such as perfumes, cleaning solutions, beauty products and more. Now people–including me–are going straight to the source and using these oils for their physical, emotional and spiritual benefits. In addition to single essential oils, you can also create blends like Joy, Stress Away, and Peace & Calming.
To be completely honest, I thought it was all bullshit until I experienced it myself. Anyone that knows me knows that when it’s my time of the month, I am out. of. commission. Don’t expect me to get out of bed for anything. I am in so much pain both physically and mentally that I don’t know how my boyfriend deals with it. Anyway, my bestie Meghann was visiting a few months ago and brought all her oils with her. I was bedridden her last day here and she came in to my room with some oils. At this point, I would try anything to alleviate the pain. She rubbed some Pan Away on my skin where the cramps were and within a minute or two the cramps were gone. Then she gave me some Joy and Stress Away and I literally got up and started dancing within five minutes. I was in shock. Nothing had ever taken away my pain like this.
From that moment on, I was a believer. Now I own about 20 of my own essential oils and blends as well as a diffuser (which basically boils the oils in water and releases them in steam). My boyfriend loves the oils as much as I do. He has THE WORST allergies ever. I’m not exaggerating when I say that he literally sneezes every 10 seconds for five minutes straight at times. But when we diffuse the allergy relief cocktail (lemon, lavender & peppermint), his allergies disappear. It’s insane. I couldn’t love these oils more!

How amazing, on my bloglovin feed today there were two articles next to each other about the same thing! One was yours and the other was this from Deliciously Ella http://deliciouslyella.com/essential-oils/ You both rave about essential oils and funnily enough even recommend the same company! It’s obviously something i’m missing from my life! Alice xx

I just went to a class for these very oils. The lavender has really helped my son, who is historically not the best sleeper.
