I can’t believe I am in Ireland right now! I have dreamed of visiting Ireland to explore my heritage for years, so visiting with my sister means the world to me. On our first day in Dublin, we decided to take it easy. We explored, ate at pubs, did a little shopping then came back to our hotel to wind down. We are staying in the Temple Bar area, so it is very lively with anything you could want within walking distance.
For a day of exploring Dublin, I went with a simple striped dress and an army green vest. I only brought booties for this trip, so I’ll be alternating between these and one other pair for the next week. I have this thing about packing light – it’s just so much easier! I was actually expecting it to be much colder here, but it’s been around 65-70 degrees. Can’t complain there!
We decided that since it was our first night in Ireland, we should go to an Irish pub for a pint or two. After some research, we came across The International Bar. They were having a comedy improv night in just 30 minutes. Perfect! We threw our clothes on and headed out the door. Just 8 short minutes later, we were there. The improv show was hilarious and afterward, we stuck around for a bit. I can’t even begin to explain how happy I am that we did.
If you follow me on Snapchat (@lushtoblush), then you got a little glimpse into how perfectly Irish the night was. My sister and I sat down with our Guinness pints and talked about the funny show. All the improv performers were mingling with the other guests when a band started playing. But not the kind of band you’d expect. Three guys with guitars, a harmonica and…some other instrument that I have never seen before. They were just sitting at a table on the side of the pub playing classic rock songs while drunk Irishmen danced the night away. It was incredible. We ended up making some fun friends here in Dublin. I love this place!
