One of my favorite things about the change of seasons is the change of makeup. I love playing with different styles and a new season always calls for a new look. This year, I’m experimenting with fall hues and bold lips. But at the base of any good makeup look, you need a good foundation. Enter Laura Mercier’s new Silk Crème Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation.
The smooth and creamy liquid provides full coverage, but doesn’t feel cakey at all. I went with Beige Ivory for my shade and was so happy with how well it matched my skin. It matches me perfectly right now with my Costa Rica tan and will be just a shade darker than my natural color once this tan wears off, which is totally fine with me! I actually loved the foundation so much that I decided to go with Laura Mercier for my new fall makeup. Here’s what I picked and how I used it!
Step 1: After moisturizing, apply with the brush or sponge of your choice. Set with your favorite powder.
Step 2: Using all four colors of the , lightly bronze beneath the cheekbones, along the jawline, and at the temples of your face.
Step 3: Using only the bottom, lightest colored triangle of the Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc, highlight your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, center of your forehead (just above and between your brows) and chin.
Step 4: Apply the to the apples of your cheeks for a nice warm blush.
Step 5: Using the Shimmer Bloc again, apply the bottom, lightest colored triangle as an eye shadow all over your lid.
Step 6: Moving clockwise from the bottom, apply the color on the left side of the palette along the lash line and in the crease of your eye. Blend.
Step 7: Finally, using a thinner eye shadow brush, apply the top, darkest color along the lash line and sweep out for a slight cateye shadow. Blend.
Step 8: Apply the . I prefer a cateye, so that’s what I did here. I just have to also say that this eyeliner is so cool. Look at the shape of it. That alone makes me love it; added bonus: you’ll never have to sharpen it! The application is so smooth and precise.
Step 9: Apply the in black. I really really love this mascara too. I’ve been super loyal to another brand for a long time, but this one might just take its place!
Step 10: Use the to add that final bold lip.
And now you’re ready for fall! I went with a golden and burgundy hues for this look and I’m totally loving it! Maybe next time I’ll go with blacks, purples and light pink or something. That feels kind of wintery to me so maybe I’ll wait a month or two.
What beauty look do you want to see next?
