If you follow me on twitter, you know how excited I was about this show. Not only do I LOVE fashion, but Nicole Richie is one of my favorite celebrities/designers. You could probably also tell that my first impressions were not the best.
First of all, I thought I understood the format of the show based on the commercials, but I was wrong. I was lost during the first half of the show and then got even more confused as they attempted to explain the rules. The same designers present different clothes to the same buyers every week? Do people get eliminated? I still don’t get it.
Secondly, the music was so incredibly loud and BAD. Bulletproof? Really? That song was cool like two years ago and did not fit at all with the clothes or for any fashion show for that matter! And the lights were way too intense. It reminded me of American Idol, and not in a good way.
I do like the fact that you can buy designs that were purchased by buyers the next day. Unfortunately, the ONE dress I loved was not available online while the same designer’s other designs were. And I don’t have an H&M near me so that one isn’t even an option.
After watching it one time, I really did not like the show at all. It was like a wannabe Project Runway on crack. I’ll give it another shot, but ultimately, there are better TV choices on Tuesdays at 10/9c. Unless something changes, this show will not be a regular for me.
Did you like NBC’s Fashion Star?

Yeah, I’m disappointed too, but hopefully they’ll fix it!
