I first heard the term glamping on one of my guilty pleasure shows, The Real Housewives of OC. At the time, I thought it was just a silly little nickname these women gave their version of camping, but the trend has been popping up all around the U.S. According to Glamping.com (yes, it has its own website), glamping is “a way to experience the splendor of the outdoors without forgoing the creature comforts you can’t live without. Whether in a tent, yurt, airstream or treehouse, it’s camping on a grand scale.” This is definitely something that interests me. I love the outdoors and the beauty of nature, but I don’t love bugs and I don’t love sleeping on the rocks and twigs, so a closer look at glamping reveals the perfect getaway for a girl like me.
As incredibly breathtaking as renting a treehouse in an exotic rainforest sounds, it’s not something I can necessarily afford right now. But the good news is that thanks to the popularity of the activity, there are actually affordable glamping options as well! A quick google search landed me at a destination not too far away from Atlanta. Turns out I can camp in a double bed under a teepee just an hour away! Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to document my experience if I end up going.
Have you ever gone glamping? What are your thoughts on the trend?

I’ve never gone glamping but I would love to experience living in a treehouse!
Those pics are soooo cool! Yep, I definitely would do this given the opportunity!

It’s such a fun twist on camping! You still get the outdoors, but also a little bit of comfort 🙂

It’s so perfect for a couple since you both get what you want! Most “glamping” sites have other fun activities as well, so it’s great for the active and adventurous type as well as the homebodies!
