The other day I walked into a local boutique and after browsing for a moment, I was approached by an associate. “Is there anything I can help you find today?” she asked. “Yes, actually. Do you have any turtlenecks?” My completely normal (in my mind, at least) question was met with bewilderment. “Uhh, no” she said. Whatever. Turtlenecks are da bomb!
I was searching for a turtleneck because I tried one on at a high end store, but couldn’t shell out nearly $200 in good conscience for a plain black shirt. Don’t get me wrong, it was incredibly soft and pretty, but I mean, that’s a lot of money for something I’ll probably end up spilling wine on or something. Plus, I just knew I’d be able to find a thin black turtleneck somewhere. So my quest for the perfect (affordable) turtleneck began. Here are some pretty amazing ones I found, from affordable turtleneck tees to luxe, high-end sweater options:
I ended up buying 3 of the Old Navy turtlenecks. The thin material is very similar to the $200 version and I was able to get 3 for about 20% the price of one of the original. Talk about a major score!
Do you like turtlenecks for fall & winter?

I think they’ve become more fashionable of late (moreso than the last time I wore one!)

Haha, I’ve had the same experience in the last week or so! Everybody who’s anybody is wearing an oversized woolly turtleneck and they are nowhere to be found in the shops. I’ve asked everywhere and they all look at me in bewilderment and can’t understand why I’m asking for this item. But it’s in fashion, I want to shout! In fashion! I eventually found the perfect one, however, and it might become mine at tomorrow’s breakfast sale. Isn’t that a great concept — shopping over breakfast?!?

Yeah, it’s nice to experience seasons, but to tell you the truth, it’s in the 40s today and I’m officially over the cold. Lol

I’m starting to like turtlenecks much more in the last couple of years, when I was younger I couldn’t stand them!

I didn’t mind them when I was younger! I grew out of them eventually, but I think that’s just because they went out of style haha.

I personally am a big fan! Especially either a tighter-knit one under a dress or a chunkier, looser-fit one with skinny jeans — it’s all about balancing out the higher neckline!

I feel the exact same way! Those are my 2 favorite styles as well π

I’ve never ever ever liked turtlenecks! As a child my mom would always have me wear them in the winter and I never liked how they felt on my neck. I think they can be super cute but just not for me

But they make your neck so warm!! Haha, I know what that’s like. I really dislike some things today just because my mom forced me to wear/eat them when I was younger. Namely shrimp – I didn’t like it then and I don’t like it now!! lol still bitter I guess…

The turtleneck is beautiful. I just have a hard time wearing something that high on my neck. Thank you for sharing
