January 17, 2022

Happy New Year! There’s no denying that the past two years have been extremely tough. I personally capped off 2021 with a nice case of covid, forcing Ryan and me to spend Christmas alone. It could definitely be worse, but it’s a reminder that things don’t always go as planned. Which is why I’ve shifted this year from resolutions and goals to habits.

One of the biggest struggles I have yet to overcome is achieving a healthy work/life balance. I spend way too much time working and almost none on taking care of myself – both physically and mentally. So for 2022, I’m aiming to adopt a few new wellness habits to help me achieve a better work/life balance so I can reduce stress and increase joy in my everyday life.

1. Stay Hydrated

We all know the powers of water. It seriously cures so many things, helps your immune system, keeps skin healthy, and so much more. And this year, I have a tool to help me track my water intake: a new . The stylish design and cheeky commentary on the bottle itself brings some fun to it. A couple other things that can help with hydration include reducing alcohol intake (hello dry January!) and opting for tea over coffee every now and then.

2. Stick to a Consistent Skincare Routine

I’ve shared the ups and downs of my skincare journey over the years, but for the first time, I’ve finally found a full 5-step routine that actually works: . More specifically, I use the , , , , and . I am blown away by the results! My skin feels so much healthier and it’s definitely staying clearer. I’ve also added in and it is without a doubt the best serum I’ve ever tried. I saw results instantly! This year, I plan to continue to be intentional about taking care of my skin. And of course, always wearing SPF!

3. Ride the Peloton Regularly

When you spend a pretty penny, you owe it to yourself to get your money’s worth. This was one of the reasons I could justify my purchase – that and the convenience of working out at home. And I was right, having a Peloton is amazing. I’ve never been a big fitness person, but I actually love riding my Peloton. I look forward to taking a class with Cody and getting my sweat on. In 2022, I would like to get on a solid routine of riding it at least 3 times per week, even if it’s as short as a 10-minute ride. After all, that’s better than nothing!

4. Take Vitamins Daily

Can you tell I’m not good at routines? I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never taken daily vitamins. Don’t come for me! I’m definitely working to rectify that and I’m taking suggestions. Based on what I’ve seen, is a great option. I have actually been taking Flo gummies, which are supposed to help with PMS. I actually think they are working, but time will tell for sure. I can tell you that they are very tasty!

5. Eat Foods that Fuel Me

Although I am a vegetarian, I could certainly be a little more disciplined when it comes to eating healthy. My biggest vice is definitely cheese, so my primary focus is incorporating vegan meals into my diet. One easy way I have found to do that is . For a while, Ryan and I were getting ready-made meals from a local service, but the options were limited, especially the vegetarian options. So I started scouring the web for something that suited us. Meal delivery kits were out since we don’t particularly enjoy following recipes when we cook. Plus we’ve both had spoiled food-related issues with those companies in the past. That’s when I found Daily Harvest. I had heard about them in the past, but I thought they only made smoothies. I was so pleased to find out that they offer so much more than they once did. Plus, everything comes frozen so it lasts much longer than most other options. My personal favorite is the Tomato + Zucchini Minestrone. So yummy!

Are there any habits you will be working on in 2022?
