When I was in Kauai, the weather was perfect. It got up to around 85 degrees but it was always windy, providing the perfect refreshing breeze. As I sit here in Atlanta waiting for the predicted “wintery mix” to fall, I reminisce about the breezy beach days I had in Kauai. One morning, after brunch, Johnny spotted a perfect Hawaii flower on the ground near a bush. I took it and wore it behind my ear (and in by braid) for the remainder of the trip. It went perfectly with my L*Space swimsuit and Anthropologie scarf/sarong.

As I mentioned in Friday’s post, my days were always full so after the beach, I’d have to layer on a dinner-appropriate dress when I didn’t have a chance to go home in between the beach and dinner. One of my favorite dresses I brought was this blue one. I love it for traveling because it’s actually reversible, so it’s really great for saving some space in that carryon. The reverse side is white, but I didn’t get any good photos of it during the trip.

I really loved finding that flower and wearing it in my hair during those last few days on the island. It was so special to take a part of Kauai with me all day. Can you tell I miss it there?

P.S. I swear I’m wearing bottoms. Not sure how it ended up looking like that?? Oops!
