I’m so excited to start sharing my adventures in Mexico City with Lauren and Alex. I’ll definitely be sharing where we stayed, ate, shopped and went out, but I wanted to start off with our breakfast visit to the beautiful Chaya Bed & Breakfast Boutique in downtown Mexico City. Before we went, Alex came across Chaya online and fell in love with the beauty of the place. It’s easy to see why, isn’t it? So we knew we had to take a tour.
It was our first stop of the day, so we sat and chatted with the owner over coffee on the gorgeous rooftop. He told us how he purchased the property from a family friend and restored it with his brother, who designed the bed and breakfast. The center area of the hotel, which is surrounded by the 10 rooms that are available for overnight stays, is filled with cacti, greenery, and hammocks. There are several little nooks to hang out in as well as a couple tables to sit at and eat, drink, or just hang out.
There is also a terrace a level up from the roof, but unfortunately it was being worked on while we were there, so we didn’t get to check it out. I’m pretty sure the owner said there was a bar up there. Bomb! And the rooms are just as stunning as the courtyard. The minimal and rustic aesthetic ties in traditional Mexican elements to create a soothing, laid-back vibe. It’s weird, but the bathrooms were my favorite part. They were very spacious and open, which is definitely my preference for any room.

Love this, Megan! You’re so cute and how you can hang around that garden, sitting on things and not get your white outfit smudged? Impressive LOL.
Best,

Hahah I feel like a weirdo since everyone is talking about your beautiful pics and hair (true), but I’m just sitting here wondering if it’s possible to take a bath in that bathtub!
