It’s no secret that I loathe the cold. I’ve said before that I literally avoid going outside at all costs when the weather is below 50. I just can’t handle it. So I’ve decided from now on I’m just going to pretend it’s spring. And my guests are all on board with it. Because let’s be honest, if you want to see me in the winter, you need to come here. My bestie Meghann and her family will be arriving this afternoon from Florida (yay!!) and she is just like me when it comes to the weather. So this weekend I will be doing some spring entertaining in full force!
One way to do that is to fill my home with greenery. We have plants and flowers everywhere right now. Johnny just bought a lot of new plants since some of our older ones died due to the freezing temps outside. We have small potted plants, flowers in vases, and 3 trees placed all over our home. By the looks of it, it’s spring in here!
My next step to faking spring is the scent. Having plants around is great, but the scent doesn’t always spread throughout the whole apartment. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for candles. I mean, what’s not to love: they’re cozy, pretty and smell great! So clearly I chose candles to create that spring scent. Obviously earthy and floral scents is the way to go, but if you’re looking to fill your home with spring, I have found the perfect candle from Glade to do so. It’s called “hello spring” and it. is. spot. on. With scents of crystalline greens and quince, spring is literally in the air. Iris petal fragrance breezes through as the soft scent of sun-dried moss and lacewood lingers.
In addition to the warmth of spring, I think another reason I love it so much is the emotion it brings. There’s a reason spring is the most popular season for weddings – the biggest celebration of love in our culture. Spring is happiness; spring is a fresh start; spring is unbridled. These are the emotions that Glade’s Hello Spring scent brings me. And I am more than ok with that.
How do you make your home feel like spring?
