As a huge bourbon fan, I love a good old fashioned, but add a little extra flavor and a theme, and I’m obsessed. This fall twist on a smoked old fashioned was better than I imagined and felt so festive to drink. And the best part is, it was super easy! All I did was swap out the simple syrup for maple syrup and used pecan-flavored wood chips for the smoke flavor. It was delicious!
Maple Pecan Smoked Old Fashioned
Equipment
- bartending torch gun
- stone slate surface
- cocktail shaker
Ingredients
- 1 pinch pecan wood chips
- 2.5 oz bourbon
- .5 oz maple syrup
- 3 dashes bitters
- 1 stick cinnamon
Instructions
- Slightly wet glass
- Burn wood chips and place glass on top, capturing the smoke inside the glass
- Mix bourbon, maple syrup, and bitters in cocktail shaker; stir
- Turn glass right side up and add ice and stirred cocktail
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick

This sounds delicious but unfortunately I don’t drink alcohol and sadly have allergy to pecans:( I will definitely share this idea to one of my friends and family that enjoys drinks for the holidays

Okay, talk about leveling up your holiday drinks! I can imagine this would be a huge crowd-pleaser at a Christmas party. So cool and unique. I love an Old Fashioned, but have yet to own all those fancy tools to create something like this. Maybe in the future, I will!
