So my latest obsession is definitely the home delivery meal service. I can’t believe how much I love it. Most recently, I tried Blue Apron and there were so many awesome perks I never expected. First though, let me explain why I love the whole concept.
As someone who works pretty much 24/7 and travels a ton, I don’t always have enough time to search online and plan meals, grocery shop for the ingredients and cook the meals before all the food goes bad. First of all, I always forget at least one thing I was supposed to get. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t get everything on my list. Ever. Secondly, I feel like I always end up picking basically the same recipe every night. I mean, I have the leftover ingredients so I may as well have the same thing every night. How fun!
With Blue Apron though, they do all the work for you. You pick the recipes you want (out of up to 6 choices based on your preferences), they send you the exact amount of each ingredient you need (no wasting leftovers!) on a specific date, and you cook it when you want to. It’s so perfect and easy! As a vegetarian, there were limited options for me and at first I was a little disappointed. But then I realized I need to expand my horizons and try something new. Omg, I am so glad I did! I thought I hated mushrooms. Turns out, I don’t! These dumplings are something I would have never made on my own, but now it’s definitely one of my favorite meals I’ve ever made! My photographer thought she hated mushrooms too, but she totally raved about these dumplings. Blue Apron not only makes meals super convenient, but it also helps you try new things, which is so awesome in my book!
But possibly the best feature of Blue Apron is that they also offer a WINE PAIRING SERVICE. Yes, you read that right: you can get perfectly paired wines delivered with each meal. Could it get any better? Actually, yes, it can. Click this link and the first 50 readers can get two free meals with your first purchase. You’re welcome. 😉
Have you ever tried a meal delivery service?

Wow, this is such a neat concept! Thanks for sharing, Megan! I love how you decided to be adventurous and try something new! I don’t like mushrooms either but hmm, maybe that will change with the right dish. 😉

This looks AMAZING! And actually something I’d be able to cook! 🙂
