It doesn’t take much to convince me that a coffee-flavored adult beverage is the way to go. Like I shared last week, coffee is my absolute favorite, and that combined with booze is a total win-win in my book. This week, Danasia of The Urban Realist and I decided to mix it up and make a shooter. It’s so super simple and easy to make, yet tastes so decadent.
As a huge fan of tequila, Danasia has been advocating to incorporate her favorite liquor into our series from the beginning. This week, we finally got the chance with Patron’s XO Cafe. Personally, I am not a tequila girl. When it comes the time where I’m ok with throwing back some tequila with a lime, it’s probably safe to say I need to go home. But the XO Cafe tequila is coffee flavored and lower in alcohol content than your typical tequila, so I was good to go. As long as it was mixed with my favorite premium latte: Whynatte.
Danasia and I both came up with the idea to add some sweet brown sugar to the rim of our glasses. But when the time came, we couldn’t get the sugar to stick to the glass. I thought maybe we could use honey to make it stick. Unfortunately, Danasia didn’t have any–but what she did have made this shooter more special that we could have ever imaged: peanut butter.
To make a Hugs & Kisses Shooter, mix two parts Patron XO Cafe tequila and one part Whynatte. Rim your glass with peanut butter, then dip it in brown sugar. Then shoot it back and enjoy!
And don’t forget–you can get 15% off of your entire order from Whynatte.com when you use the code LUSH!
What would you mix with Whynatte to make the perfect coffee flavored cocktail?

I’m a coffee lover but just cannot stomach tequila. When I was younger I drank it a few times and each time was quite ill the next day. I’m like you, if it is time for tequila shots I should be heading home instead. Now that I’m older and wiser I steer clear of it but the shooters you made do sound good just with maybe a different liquor

Haha, I feel you! But the best thing about this is that it really doesn’t even taste like tequila! If you’re looking for another coffee drink, I have two that I posted recently (https://lushtoblush.com/the-urban-lush-whynatte-coffee-cocktail-recipe/ and https://lushtoblush.com/the-urban-lush-featuring-cathead-vodka-pumpkin-creme-martini/). You can also check back every Friday in November for more recipes featuring Whynatte! 🙂

It might be fun to try finding a chocolate liquor to somehow pair with the Whynatte.
