Less is More

As a style blogger, it can be hard to put together outfits that are both inspiring and realistic. I’m always true to my style, but sometimes I worry that my looks are just too simple. Then I remember one of my favorite classic quotes, “less is more.”
This look is totally the definition of less is more. I picked up this little white dress at alice + olivia last weekend after falling in love with it months ago. They didn’t have my size when I wanted it and I couldn’t find it anywhere online. Then I saw it when I was there recently and immediately bought it. I’m so glad I finally got my hands on this dress!

The shoes have a similar story. I’ve lusted after these babies for probably over a year. They’re a super classic shape & color, so it totally makes sense to splurge on the style, but I could never get myself to do it until last week. I needed shoes for my friends wedding and since I’m a bridesmaid, we had instructions on color and had to get it approved by the bride. This was my chance to justify the purchase! She loved them and I bought them right away. Expect to see them a lot.
Do you believe less is more or do you like to amp it up when it comes to style?

I couldn’t agree with you more, less is always more! One rule I love, after I am done getting ready, before I walk out the door, I take off one thing, to truly keep it simple!

I definitely struggle with the issue of thinking my outfits are too plain! But I totally agree with you – less is more, especially if it truly defines your style! And I’ll have to live vicariously through you with those heels, because I’ve wanted them for the longest!

I agree! I love to just add a touch of fun with jewelry or a bag, but I truly like to keep things minimal. Unless it’s a special occasion of course. 😉 And ahhh they’re amazing! Worth every dime!

Love this look and yay for the fashion finds.
I sometimes go for a less is more look but sometimes I dress up. It depends on the occasion and my mood.

YES! Less is more. The thing I love about Alice & Olivia is that they have great dresses for different body types. Their sales people (at least in Malibu) will also call to let customers know when they have the right dress for her. I love that customer service.
Your shoes are perfection! Beige/nude — every woman needs a pair!
Great post!

minimalism at it’s best. 🙂
in terms of style I think streamlined is always a safe way to go because if there is too many lines then you know you’ve over done it, and usually it is always chic no matter what.
