I have a confession to make: I love watching tv shows. I get really into them and it’s by far my favorite thing to do to relax after a long day. Which is why I am super excited for the Younger season 2 premiere! I watched season 1 religiously and after a binge rewatch over the weekend, I’m feeling inspired.
The show is about a 40-year-old woman going through a divorce and jumping back into the work force. But after a 15-year break, no one is willing to hire her. So after some convincing from her BFF, she fakes her age and gets hired as an assistant at a publishing house. Everyone thinks she’s 26, but it’s much harder to keep the secret than she thought it would be. It’s an interesting story that showcases the struggle women who choose family over career face when they reenterย the workforce. I also love the look at pop culture compared to what the 40-year-old star remembers about the industry in the 90s. But most importantly, I love the fashion and beauty on the show! Patricia Field–yes, the same one who headed costume design for Sex and the City–is a costume consultant on the show. Wouldย you expect anything less than perfectly chic?
The girls in the show often go from work to happy hour, so that was the inspiration behind this look. Kelsey (Hilary Duff) often wears pencil skirts and blazers and Liza (the main character in the show) wears a lot of prints, so I blended the two for this day to night look.ย All it took was a simple change of outerwear to go from the office to party mode!
Are you a fan of Younger?

I saw commercials for that show when it first aired, but never ended up watching it. I’ll definitely have to add it to my Netflix queue. I love both looks you’ve created here with the rose quartz blazer and the leather jacket. Super stylish!
