If you’re a fan of street style or high fashion, then you likely know who Olivia Palermo is. Ever since she appeared on The Hills, I was in love with her style. Her character on the show may not have been likable, but her style most definitely is, which is why I knew I wanted to emulate her in my searsStyle Look for Less!
Ms. Palermo’s style is my inspiration for many outfits, but one problem I have is that I don’t have access to her bank account. Fortunately for me (and any other girl on a budget), there are tons of options to recreate a designer look at Sears. Yes, you read that right: Sears.
I have to be honest here, I haven’t been to Sears in years. In fact, I haven’t even been to a mall in ages. I find myself online shopping and venturing in to locally owned boutiques. But when I was given the opportunity to create a look for less from Sears, I jumped at the opportunity. I often find that when I haven’t visited a store in a while, I am shocked by the amazing clothing and unbelievable deals I find. And Sears was no exception.
The Atlanta location I went to had quite a selection of cute, trendy items. But what I liked most about it all was the quality. Most of what I found seemed like it would last for years. The brand that stood out to me most was metaphor. In fact, two of the three pieces I went home with were by the brand.
As I began my search to replicate Olivia Palermo’s casual red carpet look, I was approached by friendly employees willing to guide me in my journey. They did a great job of pointing me in the right direction and I was truly happy with what I found.
The blue top is a piece that I can wear for many different occasions and the vest is something I’ve been looking for for a while. I love that it is two colors so it brings texture and variety to a look. And the pants not only look great, but they are also super comfy too – talk about a win-win! Since I’m not going to be attending any red carpet events anytime soon, I decided to make my Look for Less more casual and appropriate for everyday wear. After all was said and done, my look was just $45 before tax. That’s right, I replicated a fashion industry socialite’s look for under $50! And it’s all thanks to Sears.
Have you ever tried a “look for less” mission? What was your favorite find?

This outfit is lovely! I hardly ever shop at stores like this. I usually shop at Kohl’s. I love it when I find nice items on the clearance rack.

Fantastic idea! And yes, I did quite a few looks for less, mainly designer-inspired (Michael Kors, Vuitton that kind of thing) rather than street style though. All on the blog in case you feel like browsing. 🙂

I remember shopping at Sears with my mom for back to school clothes all those years ago. It’s great to see that they have affordable yet surprisingly stylish pieces still. I love that blouse and I hope you show us ways to remix it in the future.
