This year, I was so excited to attend my very first Lucky FABB (Fashion and Beauty Blogger) Conference in Los Angeles, California. I have watched year after year as bloggers attend this amazing conference, complete with celebrities, industry experts, and high profile bloggers. I have always longed to go and finally decided to take the plunge this year when blogging buddy Lauren of Fashionably Lo agreed to be my partner in crime.

For the day of the conference, my blogging buddies and I used Lyft to get to the SLS hotel, where the conference was being held (use code LUSHLYFT for a $25 credit!). I was so excited to learn more about blogging, network with fellow bloggers and connect with brands. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much of any of that. It was cool to meet a few new bloggers, plus some I already follow, but it felt like most bloggers were already in their set groups and didn’t really break from that. Anyway, here’s what I wore (I loved it!):

As someone who has been blogging for over two years, I didn’t feel that the panel/breakout sessions at Lucky FABB were of benefit to me in that aspect. It was definitely targeted towards newer bloggers. In fact, clients who attended commented that my blog consulting was more beneficial to them than the breakout sessions and panels. As far as connecting with brands goes, I was approached by two brand reps and I am super excited about those potential collaborations, but it was virtually impossible to pick the brand reps out of the crowd. They were just mixed in with the bloggers, so that was difficult.

All in all, I won’t be attending Lucky FABB again unless they create a targeted conference for more advanced bloggers. I’d love to learn more about managing my taxes as a business and working on more advanced brand collaborations like designing  jewelry for a brand or creating large scale campaigns. Oh well, I really did have fun with my girls Lauren and Johnnalynn at least! I am also happy that we put together an SBS meet up and a Glam dinner. Luckily, I was able to stay in LA for a full week, so I got a lot out of the trip as a whole. Stay tuned for more of my trip!

Have you ever attended Lucky FABB or another blogger conference? How did you like it?
