Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair

There are a few different options for beautiful views of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Bridge (Circular Quay, Opera Bar, the Manly Ferry to name a few), but I think my favorite has to be from Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair. Mrs. Macquerie’s Chair gives you the view from the side opposite the bridge. There’s a nice little walkway that will lead you through the botanical gardens before you arrive at the opera house, so it’s a really lovely place for a stroll. But what I love most about it are the gorgeous rocks that are constantly being splashed by the sea.
The best part is, you can actually walk out onto the rocks to really feel as one with nature. While I was here jumping from rock to rock while David snapped some photos, there were a few people just sitting on the rocks, looking out into the ocean, and hanging solo. I thought it was really cool that Sydneysiders have the option to just go hang at such a beautiful place like Mrs. Macquerie’s Chair if they want to.
For my stroll around the area, I wore my blue and white romper. It was about 90 degrees this day, so I certainly wanted to dress for the heat. Once again, I stole my sister’s sunglasses (I mean, can you blame me?), threw on some sandals and I was ready for the adventure. There were also tons of joggers and healthy people running along the path to the opera house. My sister and I definitely kept it casual. Exercise has no place in any vacation of mine.
Have you ever been to Mrs. Macquerie’s Chair?
