December 4, 2019
2017 was a great skincare year for me. I have skin allergies, so it’s always a toss-up, but I think I’m finally understanding what I can and can’t use on my skin. And I’m also learning that staying hydrated works wonders. You can never drink too much water. Seriously, it was a huge game-changer for me in 2017! Since I do have sensitive skin, I like to use products that aren’t too harsh, but actually do something. Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Unfortunately, you probably know that it is. Luckily, I have 3 skincare products that I discovered in 2017 that I totally swear by now.
1. La Mer Moisturizing Creme
I somehow got a sample of this luxurious moisturizer about a year ago, but I never used it because I was scared it would break me out. I was so wrong. I wish I started using this so much sooner! It is extremely thick and rich in texture. It’s like thicker than a body butter. But that’s what I love about it. It’s so expensive, but a little bit goes a long way. I’ve be using my 2oz. jar for at least 5 or 6 months and I still have more than a quarter of it left. I try to use it sparingly because I want this stuff to last!
2. SK-II Facial Treatment Essence
I have to laugh at myself for loving a facial essence so much. Before I joined a campaign with SK-II, I had no idea what a facial essence was. It seemed like a way for beauty brands to make a bunch of money off of basically water. But I was so wrong. This is another product you don’t need much of (which, again, is good since it’s so damn expensive), but it really makes a difference in your skin. When I don’t use my SK-II facial treatment essence, my skin is dull, my fine lines come out to play, and I start to break out. This stuff makes my skin smoother, more luminous, and all around better.
3. Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream
2017 also marked the year I started using eye cream. Since I’m 30 now (I know, I can’t believe it either!!), I figured I might as well get in some wrinkle prevention products. I don’t have eye wrinkles yet, but I know they’re coming. And I’m going to attempt to hold them off for as long as possible. I’ve been using this Olay eye cream most mornings and night. It seems to be doing its job, because I still don’t have any eye wrinkles. Yay!
What are some of your recent skincare discoveries?
