On my way to El Nido and Bali, I had a quick pit stop in Manila. We were there for 24 hours and took that time to relax, catch up on sleep, and try to get on that Southeast Asian time. It’s 12 hours ahead there and after traveling for almost 32 hours, we were all out of whack. When we landed (at 10am), we immediately got settled at Raffles Makati and had some coffee in the room. The best way to fight jetlag that first day abroad is to stay up, so we did just that.
Instead of taking a shower, I opted for a bath in the huge soaking tub. It felt so great to relax and clean off after such a long flight – it took 4 just to get to Manila! After refreshing, we had to check out the pool. As you can see, it was gorgeous!! We could not pass up the opportunity to snap a few photos in this pretty setting.
I thought my new matching set was perfect for this occasion. I just love how the colors all go together here. I love wearing matching sets and this one may be my favorite ever. Stripes are perfect for those summer nautical vibes and blue and white are my two favorite colors to wear for a tropical vacation. The fit perfectly and the is adjustable with an adorable back. I accented the look with these pretty palm earrings from Alessandra Palms. This brand just launched and their earrings are ideal for summer. After hanging at the pool for a while, we headed downstairs to The Writer’s Bar for afternoon tea and cocktails. It was an absolute dream. We were so tired that we ended up skipping dinner and went to bed by 9. But hey, I think we still did a good job of fighting that jetlag!
