Business casual can be a difficult dress code if you want your personal style to show. You can’t wear most trends and you have to always be sure to stay conservative and appropriate. But dressing professionally can be chic if you know how to do it.
I had my first real experience with this dilemma this past weekend. As I announced in a previous post, I have moved to Atlanta for a new job and I now need some business casual attire. In the past, I have always worked from home and wore whatever I wanted, so this is a big change for me. I had the chance to go shopping at a few stores and luckily, I found some great, affordable pieces at H&M.
Since it can be difficult (and expensive!) to find several unique clothing items, using jewelry to accent an outfit and to show your style is easier than buying a tons of different tops and dresses. Personally, I prefer to add a pop of personality with my shoes, like I did today with my royal blue point toe stilettos.
Do you find it hard to show your style at work? What are some of your favorite pieces?
