It has only been a few days since I arrived back in the US from Costa Rica, but I am already ready to go back. If anyone you know has ever been to Costa Rica, then I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “pura vida”. It’s so hard to explain exactly how perfectly this phrase describes life there. Now having experienced myself, I totally want to live the happy and pure lifestyle year round!
I went to Costa Rica for a week and I have to say I think I did a pretty good job of exploring during that time. I flew in to the largest city and capital of Costa Rica, San José. From the airplane I could immediately see the vast difference of how people live there as opposed to in the US. I felt so lucky to be born in the US to my middle class family.
But despite the poor conditions in most areas, the people seem to be happy with their priorities in order. Life there is about enjoying the company of loved ones, eating fresh, locally grown food and doing whatever it takes to get an education and grow as a person. I learned so much while I was there and I truly hope that I continue with the pura vida lifestyle.
I’ll be sure to post more about what I did while I was there (plus some travel tips) in the next few days. Until then, pura vida!
