Sometimes you just gotta switch it up, right? This is totally not my usual style, but it might be one of my favorite looks and shoots ever! I got this grey cutoff skirt recently and had no idea how I was going to wear it. It’s the perfect casual skirt, but a lot of my wardrobe is super feminine and flowy; I needed something more casual. To me, casual is a maxi dress, pretty earrings, and a fab bag. I’m always overdressed. So I knew it was going to be a mission to style this skirt.
I was originally planning to wear it with one of my favorite Star Wars graphic tees, but the color of all of the tees was just too close to the skirt. Gotta have some contrast! Then I was shopping online and I came across this adorable cropped sweatshirt. I knew I had to have it! I actually ended up wearing it with some faux leather leggings before styling it with this skirt. I’m surprised by the versatility, but it’s great for breezy summer nights.
Since I was going for a more edgy/grungy vibe, I went with natural hair for a carefree and minimal effort look. I considered wearing my black leather converse, but I just couldn’t go that casual. I opted for these black boots that are so great for day or night. I had a lot of stuff with me this day and just brought this backpack without thinking of wearing it in photos, but I actually like the way it looked, so it worked out perfectly. After snapping photos, my friends and I went to a local Mexican restaurant to watch the Atlanta United game. And we won! Woohoo!! It was a fun day for sure.
What’s your version of casual?
