This past weekend, I headed to Atlanta’s Sweetwater 420 Fest. Sweetwater is a brewery located here in town and I love frequenting the tastings, so when I heard about the festival, I was definitely down to go. My favorite part of music festivals is the fashion (naturally), so I was super excited to go shopping for a retro glam flower child look. Of course, I headed straight to my favorite local boutique, Dress Up, and quickly found the perfect look. Next, it was time for my makeup look. I really wanted to go all out for this one, so I got some new mascara and put it to the test.

I previously reviewed RIMMEL Stay Matte foundation, so of course I used that as my base. Next, I highlighted my cheekbones, nose, chin and forehead and applied bronzer in the hallows of my cheeks, on my temples and along my jawline.

I applied a touch of blush on my cheeks and set it all in with some powder. Now for my favorite part: the eyes. Since I was going for a retro glam look, but still wanted to keep it simple, I went for an exaggerated cateye and big lashes. I prepped my eyes with a simple light shimmer and then lined it with a plum kohl pencil.

Next, I drew on the bold cateye with a liquid liner. Finally, I started at the roots of my eyelashes and worked my way up with RIMMEL Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara. My secret to long, curled lashes is to also apply the mascara on the inside of lashes by twirling the wand up and away.
