One thing I did not to expect about Maui is how great the shopping is – and I mean the local shopping. Of course, they have all the designer stores in Wailea, but my favorite place to shop was in Paia. Paia is a cute little town on the northern coast of Maui. This town was the most authentically Hawaiian beach town I experienced in Maui. And I am all about the local life.

We actually went to Paia to get some coffee after picking up our photographer at the airport. We also wanted to get some acai bowls. On our way back from getting the bowls, a store caught my eye and I had to stop in juuuust for a second. I loved so many of the pieces! They were mostly all local brands, which of course made me love them even more. When I walked in, I was wearing this same white bodysuit and cutoffs, cute and beachy, but nothing special. When I walked out, I had on this gorgeous flowing blue striped maxi skirt (almost identical one here). How adorable is the ruffle detail?!

After breakfast and shopping, we headed over to Mama’s Fish House, the most frequently recommended place all of us were told we had to go to! I can totally see why everyone loves it! First of all, it’s right on the beach. You have an amazing view no matter where you sit. Secondly, the service is outstanding. Everyone is extremely nice and professional, but still with those Hawaiian island vibes. Perfection! And then of course there’s the food and drinks. We didn’t eat much because it’s definitely expensive as you can always expect in Maui, but what we did have was divine. If you’re in Maui, go to Mama’s Fish House.
