When I think about neighborhoods in London, the first one that comes to mind is Notting Hill. I guess it must be from the movie, even though I’ve never seen it. So I really didn’t know what to expect when my sister’s friend Hannah, who is from London, suggested a restaurant there for dinner. I was so pleasantly surprised.
Notting Hill is absolutely beautiful. It is definitely a high end area of London. We went to eat on a street called Westbourne Grove. There were gorgeous pink flowers everywhere and all of the buildings were stunning. I could barely wait until after we ate to go shopping. The endless stores were nothing short of amazing. From local designers, to specialty boutiques, I was in heaven.
My favorite store I went in is called The Dayrooms. Everything they carry is from Australia. I made a few purchases and after discovering some new favorite Australian designers, I even ordered some stuff online once I got back to the US. After dinner, we walked down Portobello Road, one of Notting Hill’s most famous streets. Unfortunately most of the shops were closed, but we did get to see some of the vintage shops that lined the street. My mom also stocked up on souvenirs.
Honestly, I think Notting Hill might have been my favorite neighborhood in London. If I were a millionaire, I’d totally live there. And go shopping at The Dayrooms every day.

I literally live minutes away from Notting Hill yet never consider it somewhere to shop or eat (you can tell how my bank account is set up!) but if you do visit again, I recommend Rum Kitchen for food!!

I also like Notting Hill for the romantic vibe it inspires, especially in spring, with those magnolias in full bloom. I have only shopped in Notting Hill in the market from Portobello road, I got a really nice vintage watch from there 🙂
