From a young age, bonding over coffee has been a special time in each day. I started drinking “coffee” (aka my mom’s mixture of milk, sugar and some coffee flavored powder) at just 8 years old. I was my mom’s little bestie and we loved having coffee together as we talked about life and the world around us. Now I continue that tradition with my sister, friends and when I’m lucky, both at the same time!

That was the case a couple weekends ago when they both came to visit me in Atlanta. When we’re together, it’s like we’re back in high school with our silly jokes and hometown gossip–all with the maturity and wisdom we’ve gained over the years. It’s always a good time when you’re surrounded by the people who love you most so when we can all three get together, it’s very special. In addition to boozy brunch and wine nights, we also had coffee time together each morning. As we got ready for the day and laughed about last night’s conversations, we sipped on fresh brewed coffee from my new Precision Press.

Those who know me know I swear by my french press. I literally bring it on vacation with me so I can make it the way I like it. It takes a little bit of extra work, but it’s worth it for the perfectly smooth coffee it brews. I recently discovered the and while it is very similar to the traditional french press, it is so. much. easier.

With a traditional french press, you put the coffee in, boil some water, add that in, let it set for 5 minutes, stir it and press it down. With this one, you put everything in at once and the precision press takes care of the rest. Their website says it best, “The Precision Press has an integrated timer and scale that makes it simple to measure brew time and the precise ratio of coffee grounds to water all within the carafe to achieve a full flavored and full bodied French Press brew.” How cool is that?! When the timer goes off, you press the handle down and it’s ready. And if you’re like my sister and like your coffee scalding hot, you’ll appreciate that the will keep your coffee nice and hot for you until you’re ready for that second cup.

Are you a coffee lover too?
