As women, there’s something nearly all of us have in common: we wear bras. Whether we like it or not, bras are a necessity in many situations. And the sad thing is, so many of us are wearing the wrong bra size! I know I’m not the only one constantly surprised by outrageous statistics of women who don’t know their proper bra size, but as someone who went from a 34C to a 30-32D, I can attest to the fact that picking the wrong bra size is not only common, but a really easy mistake to make.

I started wearing my correct bra size just about a year ago when I was measured at a fitting. I didn’t think there was any way I could be a D, but it actually does fit perfectly! So I was excited to see what they would say at my fitting appointment at Soma last week. The experience was really great. I was welcomed as soon as I entered the store and when I told the woman I had an appointment, I was immediately given VIP treatment and whisked away to the back of the store.

She measured me and was surprised to find that my rib cage is a mere 30″. The petite struggle is real, y’all. The bra specialist scurried off the find the right bra for me and reappeared a few moments later with their new The Enhancing Shape Bra—which comes in 27 sizes in cups A-DDD–among others. After a brief explanation of the focus of each specially designed bra, I was able to narrow it down to four favorites. I was then given a shirt to see how the bras would look in real life – so convenient! The Enhancing Shape™ Bra was completely smooth under clothes.

I made my decision, but before leaving, I couldn’t help but browse the cute and incredibly soft sleepwear. I’m a sucker for cute sleepwear. Like my fitting specialist said, “Soma isn’t your grandmother’s intimates store.” She couldn’t be more right. Soma has so many really fab bras, undies, and sleep & lounge wear! After blowing through my life savings (not really, obviously), I was out the door with my new favorite bras.

It has been a week and I’ve been rotating my purchases daily. I have to say, I’m still in love. The bras fit perfectly and thanks to the awesome padded straps, don’t cause any pain or discomfort, which is rare for me. My back is usually killing me at the end of the day. Not only are they comfortable, but they’re also super cute and make me feel a little feisty, knowing I’m wearing pretty black lace as opposed to a boring nude bra.
