When I was shopping for my South Africa trip, I had no idea where to start. What does one wear on a safari? After some research, I found lots of articles that recommended long sleeves, pants, and a hat. On my way to El Nido and Bali, I had a quick pit stop in Manila. We were there for 24 hours and took that time to relax, catch up on sleep, and try to get on that Southeast Asian time. It’s 12 hours ahead there and after traveling for almost 32 hours, we were all out of whack. When we landed (at 10am), we immediately got settled at Raffles Makati and had some coffee in the room. The best way to fight jetlag that first day abroad is to stay up, so we did just that.
Hallelujia, it’s finally warm again! I am without a doubt a warm weather girl, so I’m finally starting to feel like myself again. I just love feeling the warm sun on my skin and wearing shorts, and getting tan, and ahh! Just everything about the summer! But spring is here and summer is coming so I couldn’t be happier.
When I shared that I was heading to Puerto Rico for the first time (finally!!!!!), everyone told me Old San Juan is where it’s at. So for my first night in my grandmother’s homeland, I stayed right in the middle of Old San Juan. My boo and I spent one full day exploring the area and it was definitely not enough time. We had so many recommendations and so little time! But from what we did see, everyone was right: Old San Juan is amazing!
