Summer in the South

Ahhh, summertime!! Summer is my favorite season of the year. I love the sun, the warm temperatures, and the outdoor living that summer brings. To me, there’s nothing better than getting a tan (while wearing SPF, of course), relaxing by the pool with a cocktail, or chatting with friends as the sun sets on those late summer evenings. Ryan and I spend a lot of time on our outdoor patios in the summer, but even more time over at Ryan’s sister’s house by the firepit and serene pond in their backyard. But I have to be honest, there is one thing that can spoil a perfect summer day turned night: mosquitos!
If you live in the south, you know there’s no avoiding mosquitos in the summer. Or is there? I was recently contacted by a brand new women-led company is Atlanta names MissQuito (so cute, right?!). They treat homes all around the Atlanta area and I was lucky enough to be treated to a mosquito treatment there. Since they have a huge backyard, it made more sense to do it there instead of here at our condo. At our condo, they would have used traps, which I do still plan to get, but in a traditional yard, they spray a mosquito deterrent everywhere. It takes an hour to dry, so we waited before letting the dog outside, but after that you’re all good for 21-30 days. I was shocked that it only took our tech Chelsea about 10 minutes to do the entire treatment – incredible!
The treatment has made a huge difference. No more bug spray, no more running inside after being eaten half to death. Just blissful summer nights spent with my favorite people. And this coming weekend, we have our niece Evie’s 6th birthday party. It will be so nice for the kids to be able to play outside with no mosquito bites!
Do you love summertime or are you more of a cold-weather gal?

Bug issues in the summer are no joke! We just moved into a new house and treating for insects is definitely high on our list. I’m glad you can enjoy the beautiful outdoor space bug-free!

The mosquitos are no joke in Virginia! And I must have sweet blood or something because I practically get eaten to death if I’m outdoors. I basically avoid outside from April-September because I don’t like the heat, bugs, or the allergies I experience – but having the help with the bugs would be excellent!

Oh no!! I feel the same way about my blood! Lol I’ve also heard that they go for specific blood types too which is super interesting and makes a lot of sense. I think having a great pest control solution would help so much! It sounds like summer is rough for you overall, but fall will be here before we know it 🙂
